Isaiah Chapter 23: Nothing learned

23:17   ‘At the end of seventy years, the Lord will deal with Tyre. She will return to her lucrative prostitution and will ply her trade with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.’

Tyre is next on the hit list for Isaiah!  Woe and gloom await Tyre along with the other nations surrounding the chosen people of God. The stretch of 70 years from disaster to recovery is noted. Amazingly nothing was learned and Tyre returns to its old ways.  History repeats itself first as a tragedy but then as a farce as Karl Marx once wrote.

Are there signs in today’s world that nothing has been learned 100 years after the outbreak of a world war?
