Isaiah Chapter 4: A quiet spot

4:6 ‘..a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.’
#JourneyIsaiah

This is a short Chapter and, for the first time since the beginning of Isaiah, there is a hint of hope and consolation – at least for the remainder and the ‘survivors’.  The ‘Canopy’ covers a multitude and offers a refuge or hiding place.

It is bread for the soul, mind and body. Isaiah speaks (as do other biblical authors) of a cloud by day and a fire by night. There are times when it is not possible to see beyond the next car on the motorway.  A little fire lights up our way. That fire is the God’s Word planted deep within each one of us no matter how far we have wandered.

There are times and places where we need to take refuge. Quiet spots of restful letting go.
